I have felt the same thing, observing someone coping well with something I haven't figured out yet, & wanting to initiate a conversation but not knowing how... And I also am a firm believer in the transfer of good vibes. I do it all the time to counter the bad vibes flying around (especially when driving). I know it helps me on lots of levels- sometimes it's the only thing I can give B at a given moment, & has to be enough.

'Course you will----Charlie comes to me with the library now and while he's not 100% quiet (and not that interested in the books) he is geuinely glad to be there. As will your guys!

Most 12-year-old autistic kids do not run off or shriek. Like anyone else, we become more mature and responsible as we get older, even though it's a different developmental path.

I know it's hard to picture a calmer future when you have small children running around and shrieking... but this, too, shall pass.
