I've yet to visit England and want to very much (with my boys, of course). Short hair has huge advantages as I am recalling, now that my own is getting to the I always need to carry a comb phase-----there's more shades of gray than any one might think.

104 degrees today. Why is it the grass is always greener (in your case, greyer)? Ah rain. It rained once this year. Twice last.

Hopefully, it will let up for your vacation. Thankfully, your son's feet were only dirty from the floor and not from sock dye.

Sounds... um... depressing! I love the rain, but I think I'd go crazy if we ever had never ending drizzle...

Hello from the U.S., the baseball hat capitol of the world.

I dove down some rabbit hole the other day and found your blog. We have at least one Asbergian in the family; maybe two. My German shepherd dog, Cami, is a therapy dog. We volunteer at several venues, but my favorite is a school for young autistic children. We work one-on-one these kids about about twice a month, for an hour at a time. Your stories about your daily life with your children are eye-opening, heartbreaking, and often very funny.

I loved your post about the rain. It brought back memories of being on vacation in Sorrento, Italy for three sodden days. The "rainproof" jackets we bought in this tiny town were a joke. A search for dry socks was Mission Impossible. You cannot by sports socks in Sorrento. You can, however, buy thin cotton socks with embroidery... At night we'd put our dripping clothes on the radiator to dry but in the morning everything was still damp, if not downright wet. Even our shoes were squishy with rain. Eventually, we found the town's only laundromat (unmanned) down an unmarked side street and eventually figured out that we had to buy tokens for the machines elsewhere. I will never forget sitting barefoot in that cold laundromat, watching my shoes tumble in the dryer.

I'll be back for more of your stories. Love your photos, too.

Best,
Tena
