We all eat dessert together. My kids are old men they eat sooo early, it is all we have left. I do not attempt to get him to eat new foods, just the usual in a well balanced portion. Although I have to admit, I have a limited diet as well. I eat the same things everyday, get the same things, at the same restaurants, so you know it is possible. If I were to force him, I may be required to do the same.

I HAVE to attempt your food challenge...well, at least making the list. I probably won't actually try it in real life... Hmmm... 15 foods and 2 beverages. Well... let's say water and milk for beverages... food choices - cheerios, chicken, beef, some sort of pasta (whole wheat), carrots, onions, potatoes, spinach, strawberries, apples, nectarines, eggs, peanut butter, bread, and ... umm... chocolate. Now do spices and flavorings count in this list???

By the way, your sandwich sounds YUMMY. I'm going to tuck this away for when the guys go to school. Wish I could have fresh garden tomatoes then, but maybe I'll saunter down tot eh farmer's market for one... yum yum yum. :)

I would take: Milk, Water, Cheddar cheese, Bread (whole grain white), Crab (steamed), Chicken (boneless, skinless chicken breasts), Asparagus, tomatoes (fresh only), Raw spinach, Bacon, Apples, Raspberries, Butter, Chocolate, Fresca, Baked potatoes, Turkey (dark meat only).

But the reality is I would be stranded with my guys, and they would get to choose the foods.

Reality: Milk , Water, Fruit punch, American cheese, Mac and cheese, McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets, French Fries, Bananas, Apples, Chicken (boneless, skinless chicken breasts), Ritz crackers, Goldfish (one type only), Hot dogs, Potato chips, Mashed potatoes, A vegetable mixed with cottage cheese (remember, this counts as 2).

I won't brag about all the new foods JOey tried this weekend- but I am SO PROUD of him. I'm heading to the grocery store now... let's see what else I can get down his throat!!! :)

I did a lot of reading on teaching techniques over the years.

Montessori had the idea that if the child had a separate child sized chair/table beside the main table they could learn to care for that space themselves. Clean/set their table with their things.

This would get him away from the smells of the main table.

And idea to think about. Eldest has a headache and a daycamp program today... not good.
