We used to do that all the time at our local Humane Society. The Cat House was my favorite place!

Sounds like a delightful outing for the children. I wonder, too, if the man worried you were there to take "his" cat. Silly, since she obviously laid claim to him!

You are SUCH a good writer.

I love how you don't Shhh your children. My Oliver is also quite loud but not with words. He is noisy. And when we are out in public I sometimes have to stiffle a Shhh. So I love how you seem to have adopted a very satisfying go with the flow attitude. I need to do more of that!

I'm glad you keep posting links to your other site. It is taking awhile for me to load that site right now.

When my mother wanted another long-haired dauchsund, she worried about how long she might be around to take care of it. I promised her I would take her dog. Animals are so good for our elders. I wrote about how Leona Helmsley left MILLIONS for the caring of her dog, Trouble. The animals of the elderly are at issue, when they die.

Flea medicine? Thought you were getting a dog this time! Loved the way the woman employee kept her curiosity in check and the way you reacted. And the way you describe the man's interaction with Molly. Seems she's going to a good home. And the joy of your little boys! What would they have done if you'd come home with a kitten? Coming to think of it, your daughter might have been a little less thrilled.

I truly enjoy reading your posts. You always manage to pull me in. I end up feeling like I was right there observing. :-) I hope the man was able to adopt Molly. It sounds like he was thinking you might adopt her. I took my four year old to a ferret rescue shelter over the past year we've adopted four. We adopted two at a time. It was a wonderful experience for the both of us.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
