Joey loves people. He does his best to connect with them, talk with them. It is such a shame to live in a world where you have to teach kids not to talk to "strangers." To Joey, there are no strangers. Everyone is his friend. Joey loves the world. What's wrong with that? Why not just love him back?

I wonder what your son said to the stranger? Patrick definately rambles on to people he doesn't know. I find the only time I end up disclosing any kind of difference is if he's at a playgound or something and there's a much younger child playing with him, because I have to hover I normally will explain lest I appear insane. Often, how I speak to Patrick and explain things to him gives us away anyway.

My son was the exact same way. He would impulsively run off and start talking to strangers: mostly inappropriate things off the top of his head about pooping or how why the stranger was so fat.

Actually my son is eleven and he still does it.

What can you do?
