I was so excited for you that the boys had gone out into the grass. Then I got to the hives and just couldn’t stop laughing, the irony. I hope the hives are just a temporary thing.

What a picture perfect moment! I hope the hives are a one-time thing. We’ve never planted grass…it’s a weed and just grows everywhere out here.

I don’t have enough encomiums/encomia to heap upon your brilliant daughter! I know all too well how utterly stupendous a feat this was; I hope the hives aren’t really from a true allergy…that would be such cruel irony. The pictures are treasures, for sure!

I loved this post, because I can relate to it so well on so many levels. Much to my dismay, being an avid gardner and lover of all things nature, my son could live without playing out side the rest of his life! So, I can relate to your joy in having coming out and being in it, despite the hives I wish I could steal your idea and hide something he loves in the grass to find, but computers are kinda hard to hide! Goodness, I hope that they aren’t allergic! I know that grass always makes us itch, but I thought it had to do with the edges of the St. Augustine being a little sharp. If that is what you have, it is just advisable not to roll in it too much. . . I hope that is all. I’d hate for this to have been a short-lived event for you!

i often am so grateful for the siblings ‘off’ the spectrum – they can encourage play where i can’t, they can encourage trying new things where i can’t.
