I'm with your daughter on most of that - except the knitting slippers thing. More effort than it's worth for that one! At least you understand where she's coming from even if some of it's just not doable for you right now!

DH hates the crispiness of clothes (specifically underwear) dried in the sun, but I compromise by trying to bring them in when they are still just a little damp and throwing them in the dryer for 10 minutes. That way we're both happy - I save electricity and he doesn't have scratchy undies!

How did such a rational sensible witty competent person as you obviously are, manage to spawn such a hippy of a daughter?

Oh, right, different Daddy from the current one. I, too, regret the mistakes of my youth.

You're better off with autie genes in your family than hippy genes. Auties can be a pain in the ass, but at least we're _rational_!

P.s. Not to say there ain't no autistic hippies; I give you TrKelley. She is a very rational hippy.

Absolutely hysterical! LMAO!!

Knitting a pair of slippers in day.....

My friend's son came back from Nicaragua and we had dinner with no lights on for about 3 weeks to save on energy..in the winter.

Great kid Maddy, all your kids are. They have a fantastic role model. Have to turn off 1 of the 3 tv's now....

Love you.
Suzy

Don't send your daughter over here, I believe there is a light on in every room of the house, because, as you know, who turns out a light in the USA?

Any more ant solutions? Our neighbors are infested, so we get a ton of them. And I hate them. HATE THEM.

Good that she's visiting! I remember being so certain about things when I was her age. Vaguely! These days I know very, very little.

In the ant department, I highly recommend borax in corn syrup. I think it is marketed under the name "terro." It's groovy! Not toxic to pets or humans, just to ants. It won't work on fire ants, however, if you have those. That's a horrible problem requiring major poison.

Have a great visit!
