Wall E movie review
Yes I know that everyone else on the planet has reviewed it and seen it already, but some of us have to wait until the dust has settled and the Theatre house is empty before we venture forth.
How I love empty theatres!
How I love Pixar.
There are lots of great things about this film for smallish people. For my smallish people the best thing was how there were very few words. The first half [?] was word free. The exaggerated noises, expressions and ‘body language’ made it easy to ‘read’ and understand.
When the people come along, words are used and conversations take place but I think it would be possible to turn off the sound and still understand the story as it’s caked in visual cues.
Although Pixar is now Disney, or rather Disney’s gobbled up Pixar, fortunately the movie isn’t drowned in Disney mush.
I am probably biased by the environmental theme.
Warning:- some children may find that subsequently, robot noises and gesture are preferable to word production.

Haven’t seen it yet but my Feral Beast has already put in his request for it on DVD.
Robots are sooo much easier to relate to than some humans

My five year old, who lives for all things robots, will not see it. He thinks it will feel “too big.” He is a bit overwhelmed by the size and sound of it all–in any movie. So we’ll have to wait for DVD…

Oh I want to see this movie! We, too, are waiting for quieter times when everyone else has seen it. I wonder if the robot noises would be preferable to the hissing and growling I have been receiving lately.

Funny, I just saw it today, myself. I loved it for the same reasons as you. I’m gonna be borrowing the cousins sometime in the week to watch it with them.

We have seen this movie twice. Both times M has been so into it. I found it wonderful. I loved the sound of Eve’s and Wall E’s voices. They were so sweet. I found a lot of Wall E’s hand movements and behaviors to be quite interesting and lovely.
We will be buying this movie for sure. The second time we saw it me and M were all alone in the theatre. It was great. I am glad you enjoyed the movie as well.

Saw it in the theater with the wife and son. We all loved it. I’m already on the Amazon.com early order list. I must own it

Gentle, visual and minimal verbal plot? This sounds like M’s kind of movie.
I took her brother to see Kung Fu Panda yesterday, which she thankfully decided to skip – it would have been MUCH too loud and frightening for her.

We loved it too. Hooray for Pixar, they are the best out there.

Charlie sees it later this week for a field trip.

I will have to take my son to see it. We are ‘working’ on movies. The sitting in one place for a long time thing is a concept he needs some help with.
We love ‘pingu’ around here for the same reason. No real words, although perhaps a made up language- which my nephew has perfected (and my sister blames me,lol)

I’m planning to take Patrick to see this one…although he doesn’t know it yet. Glad to hear it was enjoyable. I’m quite looking foreward to it.

I have to confess, I had my sister take Casey during his sabatical in Indiana. I tend to doze off during most children’s films, except for the first 3 or 4 Pixar films. You might have persuaded me to take him again when it comes to the cheaper theater. Glad you enjoyed it.

Wall-E totally looks like the robot from “Short Circuit”… minus the cheesy 80’s style of course

I might have to go and see this movie.

Sounds like a good one to see. My 12 year old nonverbal son has never been to the movies. My 13 year old started several years ago with camp, but the younger one I hesitated on. When he is at school and the older one is not then we go to see some movies. At the first showing there is never anyone around.
One of these days I need to just try it out and see what happens.
Nice review.
