Horrid Henry Annual Review by Francesca Simon

Annual “Review” - Horrid Henry by Francesca Simon, illustrated by Tony Ross
The great thing about a blog isn’t the “memories” but accurate “20-20″ recall. Not so long back the primary swear words around here were ‘Barnacles’ and ‘Fishpaste,’ from Spongebob Squarepant.
I listen to my American children and their strong accents as they abuse each other.
“Don do dat Poopy head!â€
“Leave it out Nappy face!â€
“Worm!â€
“Pongo pants.â€
“Yur mean.â€
“Yur a Walkie-Talkie-Burpy-Slurpy-Teasy-Weasy Doll!â€
“That’s it you two ! Stop being horrid!â€
Thanks for the accompanying CD mum. It really helps with their aural processing. You’ll be delighted to know that they now swear with perfect English accents.

That is so funny. I know a lot of adults that can swear in a lot of different languages.
Enjoy Sunday

*giggling* Sorry….I can hear the ‘perfect English accents’ now! Mr M wanted to make a list of cuss words…just so he didn’t accidently say one. I warned him to tell us if he made this list….I can see it being ‘mistaken’ in school for something else *cringe*

Despite being Australian Heidi has an almost perfect American accent which she has picked up from the TV shows she watches. However she swears in a perfect Australian accent with the exact intonations of my voice :: sigh ::

One of the little ones I work with recently discovered the “S” word. The other word for poo
hehe. He has over generalized it to everything. His mom has the idea that he must have heard her say it under her breath because every time he uses the word he says it under his breath. I bet she’d love to exchange the “s word” for poopy face!

LOL, that is too funny! “Barnacles” and “fishpaste” have been favorites here too, that and “Bust my buffers!” (from Thomas of course).
I tagged you for an award, stop by my blog to check it out

Writing down for future reference…
Walkie-Talkie-Burpy-Slurpy-Teasy-Weasy Doll.
Surely that will be a useful term at some point down the road!
