Praying Mantis.. so damn cool.

We have had had one outside our front steps/doorway for the past week. I noticed it looked all bloated and then the next day I noticed an egg sack at the top of my doorway. Now the temp dropped and I am wondering if that is *not good* The kids have enjoyed the praying mantis and its bright GREEN (alex’s favorite color) and watching it eat moths and various buggies that like our porch light. I tried to take pics of it the other day to blog about but the pics didn’t come out well at all.

I love praying mantises. Mantids are carnivorous, by the way. They eat all sorts of nasty insects, like mosquitos, aphids, flies, beetles, moths… people actually release them to control pest insects. And they are beautiful! Love is simply wonderful! A gorgeous specimen.
