The Ghost of Garfield
I stand in the middle of the kitchen listening to NPR tell me that my brain, just like everyone else's brain is incapable of multi-tasking. I happen to agree with them even though my behaviour betrays me. The implication, is that people positively choose to multi-task, rather than having multi-tasking thrust upon them. Personally, I can think of few things finer than having the luxury to devote all my attention to just one thing.
Maybe I should pass the message on to the next generation.
I know he likes to read these……..
I know he likes to ride this………
But rarely have I seen the two combined so determinedly.

Hello Maddy,
I’m glad your son likes Garfield. I’m glad he likes to ride bikes. I’m not so glad he thinks they mix.
If there’s one area where we can help lead the way in combating the demands to multitask, it’s behind the wheel. Distracted driving is a serious problem these days.
States are actually considering laws specifically banning texting while driving. And hands-free devices for cell phones aren’t delivering on their promise. It doesn’t surprise me one bit that the distraction of the conversation, not the fact that a hand is occupied, causes the accidents.
Anyway, as Aspies and autists already know that it’s generally best to focus on one thing at a time. Let’s spread the word!

PS: Meanwhile, I hope your entire family stays safe!

Good thing he’s not old enough for a driver’s license yet
. That’s really cute, I was a big Garfield fan when I was a kid too.

We have all the Garfield collections…including the one in the pic. Although Mr M doesn’t multi-task…accept while in the bathroom…he does like to do both of those activities (biking and reading Garfield). Is that a pool….oh yikes…road hazard!

And right next to the pool too – I see an episode of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” in your future :0) Love the ghost of Garfield – But I don’t know how helpful a guardian angel he’d make!

He is pretty dang coordinated. Nice capture, Maddy.
He and my son, Mac, really need to meet. Mac loves Garfield and travels along the same spectrum, you know.

LOL. I like to read and ride at the same time too. However, my bike doesn’t actually go anywhere.

That is just gorgeous.
My son walks everywhere with a book in his hand too. I often have to remind him to put it down so he can do other things.

Wow, how is he managing to stay up? That’s pretty talented.
Tagged you for a meme at my blog if you choose to accept! Have a great Sunday!

I used to walk into things all the time as a kid because I couldn’t put my books down and would walk everywhere still reading them.
