Watermelon is one of those fruits Jacob has finally agreed to at least suck the juice from, but in no way will he take a bite. Ah . . . small steps. ;-)

Ah yes, I tried to grow some watermelons this year, but somehow the seeds never made it to the ground. So, maybe next year.

The Elder does enjoy eating watermelon, but like most foods that are green (minus Lime Jell-o), he does not approve of the seeds. Even the Seedless watermelon white seeds are unacceptable. So, instead of the traditional watermelon wedges or cubes, I use a teaspoon to scoop "almost" watermelon balls. This cuts down on the seeds and is much faster to disseminate the watermelon and since the watermelon rind acts like a bowl, cleanup is a cinch!
